My background in energy dates back to 1981 when I started with Apex Oil Company.  I worked in the Treasury Department as Credit Analyst, later as Senior Credit Analyst and in addition to monitoring all large ticket accounts (wholesale/trading), I managed the hedging portfolio for the refining and trading operations of the group.

I obtained my M.B.A. in Finance from Webster University in 1992 while working as Credit Manager for Wagner Lighting Division.

In 1993 I obtained my Series 3 commodity broker license, and worked with Merrill Lynch as Hedging/Risk Management consultant up until 1997.  I was recognized by Merrill Lynch for being the eighth highest producing representative within my length of service after the first year.

In 1998 I was Manager of Fuel Administration for Trans World Airlines.  I initiated a hedging program for jet fuel swaps, along with budgeting, scheduling, and supervising 2 direct reports involved in charters and accounts payable.  My efforts in the jet fuel swap program resulted in $98,000 in savings within three months.

In 2001 Kevin and I teamed up at FC Stone brokerage and worked for a time together at R.J. O’Brien until 2002 when I went to work at Laclede Gas Company as their Credit-Risk Analyst.  Again, I managed the hedging positions for all futures and options traded by Laclede Gas Company and the unregulated group, Laclede Energy Resources, Inc.
